Amidst rumours that British punk band Gallows were to break up after the end of this year, one man has come out and declared the rumours to be nothing but fabrications. During last night’s show at Kingston Peel, front man Frank Carter firmly informed the crowd that the band were not breaking up and were going on to a record another album in January time and hoping to release it in the middle of 2011.
Also announced was a special show at Camden’s Dingwalls on 17th December, where they will play their first album, Orchestra of Wolves, in full. The show will take place during the day as in the evening the band will be playing down the road at Electric Ballroom where they will play their second album, Grey Britain, in full.
More news is expected to follow in the coming days.
Punks everywhere rejoiced at the thought of a reformation of swedish hardcore punks Refused.
However, today we learn that this is indeed a false rumour.
Speaking to Buddyhead ex-Refused frontman Dennis Lyxzen said: “No, we are not reforming. Me and David are going on tour next week with our new Hardcore band Ac4 – sleeping on kids floors and playing doordeals, that seems to be more in line with what we deserve… haha”.
However, it has been revealed that Epitath Records are re-releasing a deluxe edition of the band’s final 1998 album “The Shape Of Punk To Come”.
Although it’s sad that the band aren’t reforming, it’s probably for the best. After all, this is the band who said in open letter entitled “Refused are fucking dead.” that they would never play together again and we will never try to glorify or celebrate what was. Would be a bit hypocritical for them to reform, eh?
