The Touch give away free MP3 of “Feeling”

Australia’s The Touch are currently on tour in Europe with one date left and have now decided to give away a free MP3 copy of their track Feeling. Having already earned fans in France’s own Phoenix, The Touch are on the up!

Vocalist Josh Moore said:

“We actually wrote Feeling in about 30 minutes, it started out as a bit of a jam song and we just keep adding sounds. Then we recorded it ourselves and got a producer on board who cleaned it up and took it to another level. We were aiming for something a little bit more epic that our previous material and I’m really excited with where our sound is going.”

The Touch play Playtime @ Club 333 in London on May 27th, their last UK stop on their European tour!

Introducing… You Know The Tens + Debut EP Review

You Know the Tens are a band who…well you may actually not know JUST yet. Hoping to change that however in 2011 are the band who will be releasing their debut EP on December 13th as a free download.

The EP, aptly titled ‘First’, will be your first chance to hear the band and it certainly (hopefully) won’t be the last either! The 3 track EP is the sound of a band who have spent the year finding the perfect sound and their feet and now, having found the right sound, they are ready to take on any obstacles in their way.

Having grown up listening and watching bands like Hundred Reasons and Reuben, it’s easy to see where their sound originates from. Drawing inspiration from such British bands has helped shape the band and with 2010 coming to a productive close, the band are also getting set to release a debut full-length within the first half of 2011 and with tours in the works, You Know The Tens will be a band that you won’t be able to ignore in the future.

EP REVIEW

As aforementioned, the band’s first release is a free EP entitled ‘First’ and will be unleashed on December 13th (details to follow shortly…).

Renacimiento and Pearl Vultures are straight up, ballsy rock songs. With most British bands deciding to venture out and break the mainstream with their generic rock, the band show that sticking to their roots is a far better idea. The two tracks both open with fast paced guitar riffs, however where as Renacimiento takes a slower pace throughout, Pearl Vultures sticks to the heavier root. Pearl Vultures could easily become a live favourite. It’s a head banging, rocking mosh anthem for every rock fan.

Geronimo is a longer, more melodic track. Once again drawing heavily on British rock bands the track has a somewhat Biffy Clyro feel to it. It shows a darker side to the previous two tracks and with it’s bold lyrics and dark music, it just goes to prove that to produce great songs you don’t necessarily have to be an old band or even have a reputation. With songs like this though, things from here on out can only get better.

A VIDEO FOR GERONIMO WILL BE RELEASED IN THE NEW YEAR.

FIRST WILL BE RELEASED ON DECEMBER 13TH. CHECK BACK FOR MORE INFORMATION.

Contender for the most obscure/disgusting music video?

Ok, so the music video might be a few months old now, but not very many people have seen it considering the fact that it’s pretty disgusting. Sure, we’ve all seen the ‘graphic’ music videos where people are killed or there’s a lot of violence and blood and nudity. But you’ve never seen this. The video is shot all in one take and features Brighton punk trio, Rooks. It’s easy to explain what happens, but it’s hard to explains as to why…and who’s idea it was..

Oh, and this is real. A lot of milk mixed + a lot of black food colouring + fingers down throat = this.

Featured Artist: Marmozets + Free EP!

As always it’s been a while since I featured a new and upcoming artist or band here and it gets harder to find new talent as time goes by, however the featured artist this time round is Leeds based band Marmozets!

The alternative rock band’s latest (free!) offering, a two track EP, is reminiscent to alt rock icons Paramore’s darker work, such as Decode. However with a slightly heavier sound and with their songs full of melodies mixed in with powerful female vocals, it’s clear that Marmozets have found their own unique sound.

Their two track EP can be downloaded at the link below and it’d be stupid to pass up an opportunity like this! (Did I mention it’s free? Did I mention the band are awesome!)

For fans of: Kids In Glass Houses, Paramore.
